MAKE SUMMER YOUR SEASON OF WRITING
As an award-winning writer, the founder of WritingStrides, and co-founder of the Inspired Writes Studio, I help writers set aside doubts, work through the unknowns, and put writing first. Or at least give it a place of prominence in a thriving, vibrant life! These summer specials will help you get inspired, stay inspired and write more while you're at it.
Interested but want to meet first? Drop me a line at alissa @ writingstrides.com and we'll see which program is a good fit for you!
OPTION A: The Inspired Reader-Writer
During graduate school, I complained to a mentor that men wrote all the great books I’d read. Where were the female authors? A few days later, a book arrived in the mail: The Progress of Love by Alice Munro. My mentor left a note inside: I found this for you. Enjoy! A collection of short stories, the first paragraph of the first one I read changed my writing. The way Munro handled description and conveyed emotion made me see things in a whole new way.
After that, I came home to a new book every few weeks. The more I read, the more I learned. I decided that for a writer, a book is the best gift in the world—second only to the guidance of a good mentor.
That’s why I’ve put together this three-month package. We’ll combine personalized guidance with handpicked reading selections to help you study the craft of writing.
Here's what we'll do:
Each month, we’ll have an in-depth, one-on-one conversation about your writing and how things are going. We’ll use our conversations to problem solve and brainstorm next steps. They’re also good for keeping that inner critic in check and creating accountability.
Afterward, I’ll send you a book or selected readings to help you on your writing journey. As a special bonus, you’ll also receive a personalized assessment at the end of three months. You can think of it as your golden compass, designed to help you stay on track—I’ll put together a report outlining your best writing practices so you can remind yourself what works and what doesn’t.
This opportunity is perfect if you’re redefining how writing fits into your life or tackling a larger project or goal—like writing a book. You’ll delve deeper into the craft of writing and feel inspired to get to the page.
During this three-month program, you’ll receive:
- A monthly private coaching session
- A book or selection of short pieces every month, tailored to your writing and your goals
- The “golden compass”—a personalized assessment of your writing process to help you stay on track
- Email support between sessions
If you love being in the flow of writing, you’ll love this program even more. When you’re working with a mentor, creating new pieces, and reading inspiring authors, writing becomes an even richer part of your life.
Registration for this three-month program (June through August) is available for three payments of $227. Questions? Let me know: firstname.lastname@example.org. Ready to dive in? Make your first payment and I'll be in touch:
When you register you'll be making your first payment and billed
for the second and third payment each month after that.
Option B: THE INSPIRED WRITER SUMMER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
When I look back on my graduate school experience, there are three things I miss most: having regular and consistent deadlines; working one-on-one with writers I trusted; and reading inspiring books handpicked by those mentors.
Why? Because writing, reading and feedback are the secret ingredients to improving as a writer. And having the support and structure to grow gave me a sense of purpose I’d never felt before.
That’s why I’ve created The Inspired Writers Summer Mentorship Program for writers who want to grow the quality of their writing. Together, we’ll create the space in your life to study writing and work toward your goals.
Here's how it works:
When you sign up for this three-month mentorship program, you’ll receive:
- A monthly deadline to get something done (brand new or a revision)
- A professional critique to identify what’s working well and elements to improve your writing
- A private coaching session to brainstorm next steps
- A handpicked book or selection of short pieces to inspire your writing
- Email support between sessions
As a special bonus, you’ll also receive a personalized assessment at the end of three months. You can think of it as your golden compass, designed to help you stay on track—I’ll put together a report outlining your best writing practices so you can remind yourself what works and what doesn’t.
Writers who study with me write more, become more confident in what they create, and develop a clearer vision for their writing.
It’s a great opportunity if you want to become a better writer or immerse in the work of a writing program without going back to school. When you have regular deadlines, consistent input, and the inspiration that comes from reading, you’ll see brand new potential in your writing.
Invest in your writing for only three payments of $747. Or save $150 by paying up front. (Studio members save even more: $697 per month, or $300 off when you pay up front. Email me for information or links. alissa @ writingstrides.com)
When you opt for three payments, you'll make your first payment to reserve your space and receive an invoice once a month thereafter.
Here's what you can expect from working with me one-on-one:
“After our first phone conversation I knew I had chosen the right person to help me go forward on my book. I had shelved the work on it for about a year and after talking to Alissa for just an hour I got right back to work, did some revision and hammered out what I really wanted to work with.
“How did that happen? I have no idea except that Alissa can get into the nitty gritty almost immediately and draw it out of you. It is almost miraculous. I continue on the path and am feeling really good about it with her help and writing whispers.”

“You have the gift of saying the right things, by paying close attention to what your client is saying, and of suggesting what might be the next helpful step(s)... Having a guide there who actually knows your work intimately is a rare circumstance. I’m grateful for it. ”
"You made my project a priority and while you may have had other projects you were working on I felt you gave mine your full attention. You were also very encouraging and your comments inspired me to dig back in and rewrite rewrite rewrite… I called it my “happiness project”. It was joyful and exhilarating for me to write."
